AWCM is proud to offer a full range of medical services for your dog or cat. These include; a thorough, comprehensive physical exam, digital radiology, full pharmacy, Idexx and in house laboratory, video otoscope, glaucoma screening, blood pressure measurement and complete, electronic medical records. All patients that have received their vaccines at AWCM will receive a colored, laminated pet photo i.d.
Surgery and Anesthesia
All surgeries are performed in a sterile, state of the art surgical suite with a separate surgical prep area. We are committed to providing the safest anesthetic protocol possible. All surgical patients are thoroughly examined prior to surgery and have pre-operative, comprehensive blood chemistry/cbc, IV catheter, IV fluids during surgery and a pain management plan. The surgical suite equipment includes: computerized anesthetic machine which allows accurate anesthetic dosing, EKG, respiratory monitoring, blood oxygen monitoring, blood pressure, body temperature regulator and gas scavenging/aspiration.
Companion Laser Therapy
AWCM is excited to offer our clients Companion Laser Therapy. Companion laser therapy provides a non-invasive, pain-free, surgery-free, drug-free treatment which is used to treat a variety of conditions and performed in conjunction with existing treatment protocols. Applications for laser therapy include treatment of arthritis, degenerative joint disease or hip dysplasia. It also aids in general pain relief, post-surgery pain and skin problems, fractures and wounds and ear infections. All this is done by stimulating the cells from within.
Pet Radiology
AWCM uses the latest in advanced digital radiography. This advanced technology takes less time and produces the most diagnostic images possible. All radiographs are stored digitally and can easily be emailed to a specialist or copied to CD for the owner.
Pharmacy
A full range of oral, injectable and preventative medications are available on the premise for the convenience of the client and patient.
Laboratory
AWCM offers the following in house diagnostic capabilities: comprehensive blood chemistry, cbc, phenobarbital monitoring, urinalysis, fecal analysis, skin and ear cytology, canine and feline heartworm, parvo, feline leukemia, FIV and giardia testing. In house capabilities allow us to have results in less than 15 minutes. We also utilize certified laboratories for remaining diagnostic needs.
Pain Management
Pain management is a priority at AWCM. All pets are evaluated for pain during the physical exam and are treated aggressively when appropriate. All surgical patients are given pain medication before and after surgery and are also sent home with pain management therapy. Alternative therapies, including Companion laser therapy and supplements, are also available.
Pet Dental
All dental procedures are performed by a veterinarian and include the use of state-of-the-art surgical and anesthetic monitoring. Provided dental services include ultrasonic cleaning/polishing with charting, digital dental x-rays, surgical and non-surgical extractions, periodontal treatment, crown amputations for feline resorptive disease, and oral soft tissue surgery.
Pet Boarding
All pets are closely monitored by trained staff and have veterinary supervision. Dogs are walked separately 2 to 3 times a day in a spacious, fenced yard. Cell phone text pictures and updates are sent to owner if requested. A prescription diet to prevent GI upset is fed. Blankets, toys and treats are also provided. Daily diaries of the pet stay are sent home with the owner. Cats are housed in a 3 room condominium with beds, toys and catnip.
Euthanasia
We are committed to providing compassion and understanding during the difficult time of euthanasia. All owners are permitted to be with their pet in a private setting during euthanasia if they choose. The pet is tranquilized prior to euthanasia to ease anxiety. The deceased pet is then transported to Faithful Companion Pet Cremation Service in a timely manner. If individual ashes are requested, a chain of custody for the deceased pet is performed to ensure you receive the appropriate cremains. Ashes are returned within 24 hours. If group cremation is requested, the ashes are then buried in a marked grave on the company’s property.
