My name is Dr. Lynlee Wessels and I am the owner of Animal Wellness Center on Monee. Many of you have come into the clinic and have met me through a professional setting. As my first blog, I want to give you a little insight about me personally, so that you can know me better.
I decided to become a veterinarian at the age of 5.
My first pet was a toad.
Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with animal allergies as a child and underwent 8 years of allergy injections. Currently, I can handle most animals except for horses and rabbits.
I attended 12 years of Catholic school.
My mom was a Catholic school principal and I got away with nothing as a child.
My mom is in heaven now.
I have an older brother.
My dad gave me everything he had to open the clinic. It will take me 2 lifetimes to pay him back.
I still have my best friends from the first grade.
I enjoy traveling when time allows. My favorite destination so far has been Santorini, Greece. My husband took me there for my birthday because I was freaking out about turning 40.
I eloped with my husband on a beach in Maui. I am married to the kindest man I have ever known.
I love dogs, especially English Bulldogs, however I REALLY love cats.
I hope to have goats someday. My husband says no. We shall see…
In my free time, I read, like to go out to ethnic restaurants and catch up on sleep. Not too exciting.
I have a shoe collection to rival Imelda Marcos.
My husband founded a charity called “the NewDay Foundation” .This foundation helps children and adults while undergoing chemotherapy. We are both very active with this charity. I am also vice president of the Saint Vincent dePaul Society at St. Stephen’s Church.
My favorite actor is Will Ferrell
My staff is truly the best I have ever worked with.
I cannot add. At all. I need a calculator for everything.
I go to bed at 9 pm.
Now that you know me a little better, I hope to continue to get to know you, your family and of course, your pets. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your business and trust in me and my staff. If you have not been to the clinic, feel free to stop by for a tour and to meet everyone. I am looking forward to getting to know you too.
Sincerely,
Lynlee Wessels
